How does it work?
During a power outage, generators provide power for essential lighting, equipment, and usually to the properties PBX systems, which can have upwards of 50V running through them. This device taps into that power source to illuminate an LED pulling 12 milli amps.
The intension is for these devices (2" x 4") be in guest rooms at all times as shown in top right picture above. As an example they could be secured behind a nightstand and plugged into a line splitter having both the assistance lighting device and the phone to the same line, if a power outage should occur and your PBX is backed up by a generator the device can simply be switched on to provide relief lighting.
